We would like to make our clients aware that OSHA released changes to its final ruling of the “Walking-Working Surfaces Regulation” in November 2016. The final ruling will affect certain equipment and buildings that do not currently have a safe access system, along with a clear mandate for building owners to provide assurances of identifiable and certifiable fall protection to contractors. The mandate allows a year from publication to become compliant. In support of the new regulation, BOMA has published a thorough article that may help your understanding of the changes.  See (BOMA’s Statement-click here).

Scottie’s has a plan to assist you through this transition. Throughout regular cleanings this year, Scottie’s will be identifying which client’s buildings will be affected and will work with you to find a common sense approach towards compliance.

Along with our recommendations for compliance and due to the short timeline, we will also be offering alternate methods of operation to safely clean affected areas, while funds are appropriated for compliance. We will collaborate with Peak Fall Protection, when necessary, to ensure smart solutions for all clients.

We look forward to helping you and your team through this transition. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
