Scottie’s Building Services was established in 1986 by John McGrath Sr. Under his leadership, alongside his brothers, Tom McGrath, Vice President, and Gary McGrath, Vice President of Operations, the company thrived, expanding its operations across North Carolina and into South Carolina. Their unwavering commitment to safety distinguished them from competitors, helping to attract and retain top talent in the industry. In 2020, John Senior’s son John (JD) McGrath took over the role of President after working his way up in the business.

From our inception as a small family-owned business in 1986, Scottie’s has grown to become one of the largest exterior building services providers in the Southeast. In 2021, Scotties joined the Valcourt Group, where JD McGrath remains a leader in the company today, acting as Regional Vice President of Window Cleaning for the Southeast, including Scotties. Gary McGrath also continues to play a pivotal role in the company as a leader in the Safety and Health Division of The Valcourt Group.
